So things at work are hectic, agree-to-this isn’t coming along greatly, Theta is being taken back to formula, and Dattir is stalled as it starts….and I’ve massively redone this site…but none of this is a big deal.
So what is a big deal? Well I got myself a webOS SDK to dev some Pre goodness. I installed it in my XP partition only to get a terminal BSoD…which is no good. When that BSoD wouldn’t go away regardless of what I tried (Safe Mode, etc.) I decided to backup my files and format that partition and instead go w/Ubuntu. I thought that would be a good idea. First I had to decrypt that XP partition which was OK but now the TrueCrypt boot loader has the MBR and even though I’ve tried to make the GRUB the boot loader it still tries to boot to TC’s boot loader! That is incredibly frustrating!
Now while this exercise in crazy is going on I’ve decided to put myself on oDesk as a contractor. I’ve got a job to do editing a few videos which would otherwise be a piece of cake, but I have nothing to work with until I fix this OS issue. I’ve got some ideas on what to do with it, and I’ve gotten some good ideas from some forums, but none of it is quick.
frustration
Needless to say this has been a frustrating 2 days for me. I think the real thing that has frustrated me lately is that I feel alone in many of my endeavors. It seems that I can pitch an idea, and people will be initially excited about it, then they just fade away. Its kinda like a feeling of betrayal but I have no right to feel betrayed. I’ve asked people to help me on projects, projects that can make us all rich, and they’ve declined by trying to be polite about it. I don’t blame them for it, however it does left me feeling sad and aggravated. None of my ideas have been a sure thing, however if they’re followed through on I’m sure they’ll be profitable at least. Whatever…I’ll just stick my head in the sand and wait for my fuckin’ prom.
I redesigned the site again. There were quite a few reasons I did it, but mainly I did it to get more of a web 2.0 feel to it. It is based in Wordpress instead of Joomla! or Drupal for the sake of simplicity. I also changed hosts from Fatcow to InterXstream for increased performance. Agree-to-this.org is hosted on InterXstream and so is the LPN and I’ve been happy working with them so far
Thanks to a nifty script I found here I was able to import all of my blogs from the previous incarnation of JasonAnton.com! I had to mod the script quite a bit, though, because it was made for older versions of Mamboo and Wordpress. My updated package can be found here.
That’s really all going on at the moment. Enjoy the new site, I know I will!
So yesterday was one of those days when you would swear the Devil had come to collect what he is due. I’ve even got video evidence of my hounding by the mark of the devil (that’ll be listed below)! In fact there is no Devil…however change swept over the Anton house like a tidal flow. To me its all good change and time will prove me right on that. It doesn’t make it less unknown or scary, but I’m confident in the plan going forward is a good one. Caroline got a new bed…
So I’ve got a new member of my family…well I’ve got a new facet of my personality: JTi. That’s Jason Text interface. He/I is a AMIL based interface for my personality via JasonAnton.com. Its really a fun thing to talk to! Its hard to get it in-tune with me, but its coming along. Right now I’m working on nouns. Things like: who is your wife?; who is your favorite sports team?; and why don’t you get a real job?
So I’ve been using Twitter seriously for about a week (a little more) and I must say I’ve been missing out! There is so much more to it than I thought. In the few days I’ve been using Twitter I’ve discovered a shit-ton of new software to try; I’ve found Blip.fm which is awesome! It’s like Twitter meets Last.fm and it integrates with both of those! I’m using too many exclamation points! But seriously: Blip.fm and Twitter are both fantastic services and they should be checked out by everyone alive. Especially Blip.fm:
I found it by a tweet from trent_reznor. I was immediately amazed that he was able to share a playlist he put together in the way it was being shared. Last.fm has a way that you can share playlists and save them etc., but it isn’t as instant as this. You can make your setlist while talking with the world community instantly! Good stuff.
